His going forth is prepared as the morning; and He shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth. (Hosea 6:3)

Amazing Grace

2 Corinthians 13:14 (KJV)
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.”

What could be better than having the combination of grace, love and communion available to us all the time? The sacrifice of our beloved Saviour Jesus Christ has permanently opened the way to God’s throne of Grace. There we can obtain continual supplies of mercy and grace, just when we need it. All we need to qualify for this unmerited offer is to Believe. Often those approaching the throne are under the misconception that they must first Change, not so:
All who have a sense of their deep soul poverty, who feel that they have nothing good in themselves, may find righteousness and strength by looking unto Jesus.... He bids you exchange your poverty for the riches of His grace. We are not worthy of God's love, but Christ, our surety, is worthy, and is abundantly able to save all who shall come unto Him. Whatever may have been your past experience, however discouraging your present circumstances, if you will come to Jesus just as you are, weak, helpless, and despairing, our compassionate Saviour will meet you a great way off…Thoughts from the Mount of Blessing, 6-9

The most Amazing thing about Grace is that it is Free. We can never earn Grace. It is a Gift of God. If we could work for it – it would be our wages. When the Bible refers to wages, it is associated with sin and death (see Romans 6:23). While we were yet sinners, in the most despicable, evil, and rebellious of conditions- Christ died for us. So, there are 3 parts to grace: 1) it cannot be earned and then 2) it was atoned for by, the blameless holy Lamb of God. Jesus Christ, the most perfect, righteous, loving of all beings took upon this evil condition- he made it his own nature and became a sin offering. He became sin and the very curse that he pronounced upon his most precious creation- man; 3) it is made available by Faith. Grace is available dear ones, it is an unfathomable, limitless, bountiful fountain flowing from the throne room of our Great, Generous, Glorious, Gracious God. He suffered the loss of all things, so that we could gain everything. He tasted the second death, so that we could have eternal life. He was ravaged, so that we could be restored. He was beaten so that we could be built up. Grace in the form of Our Beloved Saviour laid himself lower than the dust so that we could rise to sit alongside Him in Heavenly Places in the Victory Seat where we have no right or reason to be- Now that is Amazing!

Dear Saviour, thank you for your Marvellous Grace: greater than all our sin. Thank you for your Love demonstrated on the cruel cross. Thank you for paying our debt of sin in full. May we live to please and proclaim your goodness, in ways worthy of your sacrifice, amen.
