His going forth is prepared as the morning; and He shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth. (Hosea 6:3)

Isaiah 59:1-2 1 (KJV)
“Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”

The above scripture explains the impact of sin upon the relationship between God and his people. He loves nothing more than to save and to hear his children when they call. However, God’s hands are literally tied because our iniquities and sins leave him no option but to separate from us, turn away and ignore our prayers. Sister White tells us in Steps To Christ: “The conditions of obtaining mercy of God are simple and just and reasonable. The Lord does not require us to do some grievous thing in order that we may have the forgiveness of sin. We need not make long and wearisome pilgrimages, or perform painful penances, to commend our souls to the God of heaven or to expiate our transgression; but he that confesseth and forsaketh his sin shall have mercy.” (page 372)..

Given that we are born in sin and shaped in iniquity (Psalms 51:5) we have no option but to make confession an integral part of our day to day life if we seek a genuine relationship with our Creator. David acknowledged in Psalms 51:6 that God requires us to develop disciplines of self-examination and integrity: “truth in the inward parts.” In exchange for this honesty with God, ourselves and others, he will give us the “wisdom in the hidden part.” In other words, the Holy Spirit will impart within us the willpower in the form of the “mind of Christ”, along with the fruit of the Holy Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness and self-control) to enable us to resist temptation and overcome sin. God loves us so much that he was willing to give his Son Jesus Christ to redeem us back to him. This more than anything should prove to us that he longs to bless and fellowship with his children. Lord help us to be willing to be made willing!

Father like David I say, “create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me.” Please send you Holy Spirit to give us the desire and ability to please you and live our life in accordance with your will. May you hide your word in our hearts so that we do not sin against you Not only that, bring us to a place where we will hunger and thirst for righteousness and hate sin.
