His going forth is prepared as the morning; and He shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth. (Hosea 6:3)

Holy Holy Holy is the Lord (Devotion)

Isaiah 6:3
“They called out to one another, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord who commands armies! His majestic splendour fills the entire earth!"

We begin with a word of beauty - Adoration. There is only one who deserves this type of attention for it is defined by the Cambridge dictionary as “a very strong love or worship for someone.” There is a saying that we love (or worship) that person or thing with whom we spend the most time. God knows this and that is why His first command to us in Exodus 20:3 is “thou shalt have no other gods before me.” You see God placed the desire to worship in the heart of every individual on this planet. It is a sacred act performed by the “created” out of gratitude to the “Creator.” Humanity through the influence of evil has corrupted worship to the extent that we end up worshipping anyone or anything other than He who deserves it most. The pen of inspiration states: “When Christ dwells in the heart, the soul will be so filled with His love, with the joy of communion with Him, that it will cleave to Him; and in the contemplation of Him, self will be forgotten. Love to Christ will be the spring of action.” Steps To Christ, p 44.

We are told in John 4:23 the type of worship approved of God. In fact, God is ‘seeking’ such worshippers, those who will worship him in ‘spirit’ and in ‘truth’. So here we find that there are two seekers where worship is concerned: God and the worshipper. God is seeking true worshippers who worship him in spirit and in truth. God who knows the heart delights in those who delight in him. Worship then, goes beyond the natural into the spiritual realm where the very spirit of the worshipper is united with God, who is a Spirit- this is true intimacy. God refers to this in Psalms 46:10 “be still and know that I am God, I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted among the earth.” Worship is acknowledgement of God for who He Is and according him the attention, adoration, honour and praise due to his name. The Bible is full of many examples of true worship and the response that God gives when he is pleased with it is to manifest his Shekinah Glory upon his worshippers (see 2 Chronicles 7:3).

Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty, Who Is, Who Was, Who Is to Come. Majesty of Heaven, King of Kings, Lord of Lords. The Heaven of Heavens cannot contain Your Glory, Holiness and Splendour. You are always Worthy to be Praised, with all our being throughout our lives. Teach us how to be true worshippers: worshipping you in spirit and in truth with our whole hearts as you deserve, amen.
